    U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio urged Panama to reduce China's growing influence over the Panama Canal, warning of potential consequences if the country does not take action. Netanyahu heads to US for key Trump talks

Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu left Sunday for the United States where he will become the first foreign leader to meet Donald Trump since the US president returned to office. His visit comes as a fragile truce holds between Israel and Hamas in Gaza, and between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon. Both militant groups are backed by Iran. Before boarding his flight, Netanyahu said the pair would discuss "victory over Hamas, achieving the release of all our hostages and dealing with the Iranian terror axis". Netanyahu called it "telling" that he would be the first foreign leader to meet Trump since his inauguration.

Protesters boycott Target for DEI rollback

Protesters rallied outside Target's headquarters in Minneapolis and called for a nationwide boycott after the retailer rolled back its diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) initiatives, a move aligned with President Trump's executive ban on DEI in the federal government. Over 70 protesters gathered Thursday to voice frustration over Target's retreat from DEI goals that were implemented in the wake of George Floyd's murder back in 2020. The company's rollback includes scaling back pay equity efforts, supplier diversity programs and ending its Equality Index and Racial Equity Action and Change initiatives.

Walmart HQ goes high tech with drones

Walmart announced the opening of its new Home Office campus in Bentonville, Arkansas that features a hotel and drone-assisted cleaning among other amenities. Hailed as a symbol of "innovation" and "community," the company says the Walmart campus aims to redefine the workplace as a green space, with more than 750,000 native plants, including 5,000 trees planted throughout the 350-acre site. The facility embraces technology, offering dynamic glass that lessens energy use, drone-assisted window cleaning and self-automated lawn care.
