Trump's intel chief pick Gabbard draws fire

A former Donald Trump official who has become a fierce critic has publicly urged the FBI to investigate Tulsi Gabbard, claiming her views pose "a serious threat to our national security." President-elect Trump nominated the former Representative Gabbard for Director of National Intelligence. Gabbard, a former Democratic congresswoman, has voiced critiques of previous US foreign interventions. John Bolton, former national security advisor under Trump, recently called for an FBI investigation into her alleged promotion of "Russian propaganda".

GABBARD'S WORDS HAVE RAISED FEARS OF HER NOMINATION

The Onion buys Infowars in backruptcy bid

Far-right streaming host and conspiracy theorist Alex Jones announced that The Onion and Sandy Hook Elementary school shooting families bought Infowars during a "competitive" bankruptcy auction. Like The Onion sans the humor, Infowars publishes misinformation, including a conspiracy theory claiming the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in Connecticut was a false-flag operation. In 2018, families filed a lawsuit against Jones for defamation and emotional distress and were awarded nearly $1.5 billion, leading to Jones filing bankruptcy.

Tesla's sixth recall of troubled Cybertruck

Tesla issued a voluntary recall of its 2,431 Cybertrucks to replace faulty "defective drive inverters" that may cause a loss of drive power to the wheels. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) issued public notices to effect awareness on the recall. The recall is the sixth since Tesla started the sales of Cybertruck a year ago at a price of approximately $80,000 in the U.S. The odd-looking model has become a laughing stock on social media for its appearance and reliability.
