A new analysis estimates that deporting 11 million undocumented immigrants (based on the 2022 American Community Survey) would cost the US between $160 billion and $216 billion over a four-year presidency.

Boeing workers to vote on tentative deal reached by union
A tentative deal has been reached to end the weeks-long strike at Boeing as soon as this week. The workers' union announced the impending agreement to its 33,000 striking members, who will vote on the deal Wednesday. A majority of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers rank-and-file members must still ratify the deal before it will go into effect.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken returned to the Middle East on Monday to make a new push for an elusive Gaza ceasefire two weeks before US elections, seeing a new opportunity from Israel's killing of Hamas's leader. President Joe Biden has seen new hope for peace talks since Israel last week killed Hamas chief Yahya Sinwar, but the recent bombings of Lebanon and a leak of Israeli war plans against Iran have complicated matters in the already embattled Middle East. Blinken's trip comes days after he warned Israel that the US could withhold some of its billions of dollars in military aid without a ceasefire.

Musk gives first $1M to sign Trump petition

Billionaire Elon Musk has handed out his first $1 million check after promising to award that amount each day until the Nov. 8 election to a single registered swing-state voter who signs his online petition. The petition pledges support for the free speech First Amendment of the Constitution, and the right to bear arms Second Amendment. Signers supply their contact information so they can be mobilized to vote for Donald Trump. Musk's award is funded through his political action committee, America PAC, which supports Trump's campaign.

Cher leads elite class into Rock and Roll Hall

Cher, Mary J. Blige and Ozzy Osbourne were among this year's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees, an elite group formally introduced into the music pantheon over the weekend at a star-studded concert gala. Kool & the Gang, Dave Matthews Band, Foreigner, Peter Frampton and A Tribe Called Quest rounded out the 2024 class of artists honored at the ceremony held in Cleveland, Ohio, home of the prestigious hall.
