Israeli forces strike Gaza, Yemen, Lebanon

The Middle East was reeling Sunday from deadly violence with Israel bombing Gaza, Lebanon and Yemen in quick succession in response to attacks from Iran-backed militant groups. Despite Washington's top diplomat asserting a deal is near the "goal line" to end more than nine months of devastating war between Israel and Gaza rulers Hamas, the Israeli military said it intercepted a missile fired from Yemen, as it pressed on with its offensive in the besieged Palestinian territory.

CrowdStrike surveys fallout from IT outage

Security experts have indicated that CrowdStrike's routine update of its widely used cybersecurity software, which led to a global system crash on Friday, did not undergo sufficient quality checks before deployment. The massive disruption to Microsoft systems has included flight delays and cancellations, as well as impacting hospitals, banks, supermarkets and millions of businesses. Close to 7,000 flights were cancelled globally through the weekend, equating to 6.2% of all scheduled flights.

The Boss is officially a billionaire, Forbes said, estimating that Bruce Springsteen is conservatively worth $1.1 billion. The Boss has solidified much of his wealth in recent years, in part due to a blockbuster sale in 2021 of his music catalog to Sony for an estimated half-a-billion dollars. According to industry tracker Pollstar, in 2023 Springsteen sold more than 1.6 million concert tickets, raking in $380 million in revenue.
