Biden weighing his options under isolation

President Joe Biden holed up at his beach house Thursday -- battling both a bout of Covid and calls by senior allies for him to abandon his 2024 reelection bid -- as the 81-year-old president found himself in both personal and political isolation. Top Democrats, including Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries, reportedly have met with Biden to warn that his candidacy threatens his party's election prospects. Several Dems were quoted anonymously as saying that they believed the pressure would persuade Biden to tap out as soon as this weekend.

Questions surround assassination attempt

Multiple investigations are being launched into the failed assassination of former President Donald Trump at a campaign event in Butler, Pa. New details have emerged since Saturday's shooting, as have many questions -- like the motive of 20-year-old gunman, Thomas Matthew Crooks. In the aftermath of the attack, one of the primary questions is how the gunman was able to secure a perch on the roof of a nearby building with a clear sightline of the stage where Trump was speaking.

Amazon Prime Day's sale shatters record

The two-day Amazon Prime Day promotion experienced a record-breaking sale on Tuesday and Wednesday, as total purchases reached a reported $14.2 billion -- an increase of 11% from last year.
