Storms wreak havoc over holiday weekend

Severe storms over the Memorial Day holiday weekend resulted in at least 21 deaths across Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri and Kansas. The storm system unleashed a series of 25 tornadoes across the affected states, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake. Texas experienced significant devastation, with seven fatalities and over 100 injuries reported. Texas Gov. Greg Abbott announced that 106 counties are under disaster declarations, highlighting the widespread impact.

Scott slams Biden ad for 'insulting' Blacks

Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.) slammed an ad from President Joe Biden's campaign, calling it "insulting" towards Black voters while saying good things about the work that former President Donald Trump did for the Black community. In CNN's "State of the Union," Scott said Blacks were better off under Trump's administration, adding that the two things that were basically attracting Black voters once more towards Trump were jobs and justice. He then made reference towards wages and fairness.

Trump strikes out at rallies as trial resumes

Former president Donald Trump struck out with voters in the Bronx and at the Libertarian National Convention in Washington over the weekend while his hush money trial in New York resumes today. After being booed by large crowds, a departure from his fan-heavy rallies, Trump will return to Manhattan for closing arguments today before jurors decide his fate in the trial -- and five months before voters do the same.
