American Airlines union seeks Biden support

Dozens of American Airlines flight attendants demonstrated Thursday in front of the White House as they seek to be allowed to strike during protracted contract negotiations.  An American Airlines spokesman said the company's latest offer includes an immediate 25% increase in flight attendant pay.  Under the US Railway Labor Act, unions can only strike following a 30-day cooling-off period if they are released by the NMB.

Barron Trump, 18, to serve as GOP delegate

Donald Trump's youngest son, who is still at high school and largely shielded from the public eye, will debut on the political stage in July as a delegate at the Republican Party convention. Barron Trump, 18, will become the latest member of his family to step into politics when he joins his siblings in representing Florida at the event in Milwaukee. Barron will be alongside half-siblings Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump and Tiffany Trump as part of the Florida delegation, the state party unveiled.

Sports stars highlight Olympic torch relay

The Olympic torch relay began in Marseille on Thursday with the port city's football legend Basile Boli taking the flame in front of the iconic basilica of Notre-Dame de la Garde before passing it on to a number of sports stars including Ukrainian gymnast Mariia Vysochanska. Former NBA star Tony Parker was also among those who carried the torch alongside skier Cyprien Sarrazin who took the flame from Vysochanska.
