Senate's foreign aid bill faces divided House

The U.S. Senate voted 70-29 to pass a controversial foreign aid bill Tuesday, but it faces an uphill battle in the House of Representatives. House Speaker Mike Johnson has threatened to kill the $95.3 billion bill, which includes $60 billion for military assistance to Ukraine and $14.1 billion in support for Israel, in favor of a stand-alone spending bill for Israel only. Former President Donald Trump has been pressuring Republicans not to back the bill to deny Biden a pre-election victory.

RFK Jr. tells family sorry for Super Bowl ad

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. apologized to his family following criticism over an ad that aired during Super Bowl LVIII by a super PAC backing his independent presidential campaign. The ad closely resembled one from his uncle John F. Kennedy's 1960 presidential campaign. The ad closely mirrored the original campaign commercial for JFK and his running mate Lyndon B. Johnson. The new commercial replaced JFK's face with RFK Jr.'s and urged viewers to "Vote Independent."

Airlines cancelled more than 1,220 flights, including 43% of flights at New York's LaGuardia Airport as well as one in five flights at the city's main air hub JFK, according to aviation tracker Flight Aware. More than 32 million people were under a winter storm warning.
