UAW backs Biden in blue-collar vote battle

U.S. President Joe Biden won the coveted election endorsement of America's biggest car workers union Wednesday, in a major boost to his battle with rival Donald Trump for the crucial blue-collar vote. Biden stood with his arm aloft after the influential United Auto Workers union backed him in a major boost for his battle with Trump. Biden has relentlessly courted the union vote and appeared on a UAW picket line last year during a strike against the "Big Three" US car giants.

FTC cracks down on TurboTax's 'free' claim

In a major regulatory ruling, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has banned Intuit Inc., the parent company of TurboTax, from advertising its services as "free" unless they are absolutely free for all customers or if eligibility is clearly defined. The decree does not include a financial penalty but states that Intuit allegedly practices deceptive advertising claiming that taxpayers could file their taxes for free using TurboTax, but many individuals did not really qualify for such free services.
