Google AI tool Bard reveals latest features

Google on Tuesday said it had integrated Gmail, YouTube and other tools into its Bard chatbot as the tech giants seek to persuade users that generative AI is useful and not dangerous or just a fad. Google said its beefed-up chatbot would allow users to carry out new tasks such as summarize a confusing string of emails into its main points or tap into Google Maps to find the best way to a holiday destination. These so-called Bard Extensions would also be available to retrieve key points from content across Google Docs and Google Drive.

Five Americans freed by Iran arrive in US

Five Americans freed by Iran in a high-stakes prisoner swap landed back in the US on Tuesday. The former prisoners, including one held for eight years, arrived on a flight from Qatar, which helped facilitate the exchange, to receive a medical checkup and debriefing. Following discussions led by Qatar, the two countries completed the exchange after the transfer of $6 billion in funds, frozen by US ally South Korea.

FTX targets SBF's parents to recover funds

The legal battle fought by Sam Bankman-Fried, the disgraced co-founder of the bankrupt crypto empire FTX, is now a family affair as the company he once ran is suing his parents, Allan Joseph Bankman and Barbara Fried, to "recover millions of dollars in fraudulently transferred and misappropriated funds." SBF's parents are Stanford scholars with distinguished careers predating their son's prominent crypto career.
