Zelensky to make second White House visit

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is set to visit the White House this week as he seeks to solidify US support for the war against Russian invasion. Zelensky is expected to meet President Joe Biden following talks with world leaders at the UN General Assembly in New York. Zelensky may also travel to Congress, where Biden's Republican opponents have been increasingly hesitant on aid to Ukraine. It will be Zelensky's second visit to Washington since Russia invaded Ukraine.

Trump eyes support of women, evangelicals

Former US president Donald Trump courted evangelical Christians and women at two Washington weekend events -- targeting voting blocks whose loyalties to him once seemed contradictory but have become a well-established part of his base. The frontrunner for the 2024 GOP presidential nomination is facing multiple indictments, but support among his devotees remains strong, with white evangelical Protestants (84%) and women (44%) voting for Trump in the 2020 election.

Australians rally for Indigenous rights vote

Australians rallied around the country on Sunday to fight for a landmark Indigenous rights reform that is bleeding support in the polls before an Oct. 14 referendum. Thousands joined "Walk for Yes" events in major cities ahead of the vote that could grant Indigenous Australians a constitutionally enshrined right to be consulted on policies affecting them.
