Israel faces economic blowback from bill

Hollywood A-listers rally in Times Square

Hollywood A-listers on Tuesday led a large rally of striking actors and writers in New York's Times Square, as the stalemate with studios and streamers dragged on. Movie and television production has effectively shut down in the US since the Screen Actors Guild (SAG-AFTRA) guild walked off the job on July 14, joining writers who have been on strike for weeks. Both guilds are demanding better pay and job security, as well as safeguards against the threat posed by artificial intelligence.

NASA has big plans to study asteroid sample

A sample from the asteroid Bennu, which could be key to learning about the formation of the solar system and our own planet, is set to be analyzed at NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston after it reaches Earth in late September. The precious cargo is currently aboard a US space probe launched in 2016 to Bennu, which orbits the Sun at an average distance of about 105 million miles (168 million kilometers).
