Investigation of Titan sub implosion opens

Canadian authorities, along with the US Coast Guard, have launched an investigation into the loss of the Titan submersible along with five people onboard during a dive to the Titanic wreck. The Transportation Safety Board said it has sent investigators to St. John's, Newfoundland, "to gather information, conduct interviews, and assess the occurrence." The Canadian Transportation Safety Board said "as the investigation authority of the flag state of the support vessel" it would "conduct a safety investigation regarding the circumstances of this operation."

Sierra Leone on edge amid election tallying

Vote tallying in Sierra Leone continued Sunday following fiercely fought elections that were mostly calm despite significant delays in some areas. The West Africa Network for Peacebuilding observation group said that voting had been "relatively peaceful." But after polling stations closed, the electoral commission said staff was attacked by members of the public in certain area as they attempted to move materials.

Vanna White is reportedly willing to stay on "Wheel of Fortune" after Pat Sajak retires under one condition — a pay raise. Multiple media outlets reported that White, who has been co-hosting the show since 1982, is in talks to renew her contract and remain on the long-standing game show after Sajak steps down from his role as co-host at the end of the season. However, White wants a raise as part of her new deal.
