US seeks to reassure allies amid classified document leaks
Top U.S. diplomat Antony Blinken and defense chief Lloyd Austin spoke with Ukrainian officials on Tuesday as Washington seeks to reassure allies after a leaked trove of highly sensitive documents appeared online. The breach, which has sparked an investigation by the DOJ, includes classified information about Ukraine's battle against invading Russian forces, as well as secret assessments of US allies. Dozens of photographs of documents have been found recently on Twitter, Telegram, Discord and other sites.

Non-OPEC countries to pick up slack on production cuts
Non-OPEC countries will account for a higher percentage of oil production gains this year and next, a reversal of the last two years, the U.S. Energy Information Administration predicted on Tuesday. Gains by the U.S., Brazil, Canada and Guyana will overshadow OPEC after Saudi Arabia and other Middle East producers this month disclosed plans to cut output. About half of the forecast gain by non-OPEC producers will come from the U,S.

Why the FBI is warning phone users against public chargers
The FBI has advised people against using public chargers in locations such as airports, hotels and shopping malls. Taking to Twitter, the FBI said bad actors are using USB ports to introduce malware and monitor software in your mobile device. The FBI further urged individuals to carry their own power adapter and data cable, and leverage power sockets to recharge their devices.

Biden selects Chicago to host 2024 DNC

President Joe Biden picked Chicago to host the 2024 Democratic National Convention, tapping a large liberal city in the heart of the Midwest to hold what could be his nominating party, officials said on Tuesday. Chicago beat out New York, another progressive city, as well as Atlanta, a city in the presidential battleground state of Georgia that helped Biden win the White House and gain control of the Senate in 2020. Houston was also eliminated earlier in the selection process.

Manhattan DA sues Jordan over Trump case

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg on Tuesday sued House Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, to stop what he called an "unconstitutional attack" on the ongoing criminal prosecution of former President Donald Trump in New York. The lawsuit aims to block a subpoena of Mark Pomerantz, a former prosecutor who had led the investigation of Trump. The subpoena, issued last week by the House Judiciary Committee, which Jordan chairs, seeks Pomerantz's appearance before the committee.

Air Jordans sell for record $2.2M at auction

A pair of sneakers worn by NBA superstar Michael Jordan sold for $2.2 million on Tuesday, setting a record at auction for game-worn sports footwear, Sotheby's announced. Jordan wore the "Bred" Air Jordan 13s during Game 2 of the 1998 NBA Finals on the way to his sixth and last NBA championship. The online sale cements Jordan's position as the most valuable athlete at auctions for sportswear memorabilia. It broke his own record of $1.5 million for sneakers, set in September 2021.
