Xi pushes Putin on peace plan for Ukraine

Russian President Vladimir Putin said after talks with Chinese leader Xi Jinping that Chinese proposals could be used as the basis of a peace settlement in Ukraine, but that the West and Kyiv were not yet ready. In a joint statement issued at the end of Xi's visit to Moscow, the two men cautioned against any steps that might push the Ukraine conflict into an "uncontrollable phase". Putin accused the West of fighting "to the last Ukrainian", while Xi reiterated China's "neutral position" on Ukraine.

Meta, Zuckerberg sued over sex trafficking

A new lawsuit accuses Mark Zuckerberg and other Meta Platforms executives and directors of failing to do enough to stop sex trafficking and child sexual exploitation on Facebook and Instagram. The complaint filed by several pension and investment funds that own Meta stock said the company's leadership and board have failed to protect shareholders' interests by turning a blind eye to criminal activity, based on the board's failure to explain how it tries to root out the problem.

1 in 3 Americans would buy EV, poll shows

Just over one-third of Americans would consider buying an electric vehicle for their next model, a new poll found. The poll found 34% of all respondents would consider an EV, while 31% said no. Democrats 50% said they would consider an EV, while 26% of Republicans and 27% of independents said they would consider. EVs represented nearly 6% of all U.S. sales in 2022, with EV sales up by over 60% last year.
