Tech layoffs result in the loss of more than 100,000 jobs The tech industry is reeling from the economic downturn, as more than 100,000 employees have been laid off so far this year alone, according to the latest data. Just 50 days into 2023, 108,346 jobs at 384 tech companies have been eliminated. The tech industry also cut 160,997 jobs in 2022. Time for sunset on Daylight Savings Time?
As 2023's first daylight saving time (DST) change approaches, the debate on whether the biannual change should be permanent has once again come to light. At least 19 states are reportedly pushing to keep DST permanent through legislation or resolutions. However, Congress is yet to act, stalling the states' implementation of the changes to DST while the deadline to take action rapidly approaches (DST is March 12).
