Three more objects downed in US, Canada over the weekend
The U.S. military jet brought down three flying objects near the U.S.-Canada border over the weekend, the fourth interception by American fighters this month. Following the downing of a Chinese balloon off the US coast last weekend, two smaller objects were shot down over Alaska and Canada before yet another incident Sunday, further straining relations with China. President Joe Biden ordered the downing of similar unidentified flying objects, which one U.S. general refused to rule out as alien spacecraft.

Half of Americans say they are worse off financially: Survey
The U.S. economy is still growing. Americans are finding it easier to get jobs. The unemployment rate hovers at a 50-year low. Yet, half of Americans feel worse rather than better off. According to a recent Gallup report, only 35% of Americans are better off financially this year compared to a year ago. In comparison, 50% are worse off -- like the Great Recession era in 2008 and 2009.

UN admits failures in earthquake recovery

The United Nations decried Sunday the failure to ship desperately needed aid to war-torn regions of Syria, while warning the death toll of more than 33,000 from the earthquake that also struck Turkey is set to rise far higher. Rescues efforts slowed Sunday, six days after one of the worst natural disasters to hit parts of Syria and Turkey. Facing questions over his handling of Turkey's most devastating earthquake since 1939, President Tayyip Erdogan promised to start rebuilding within weeks. In Syria, the disaster hit hardest in rebel-held territory, the region has received little aid compared to government-held areas.
