Nike, FedEx make speedy delivery of a rally to Wall Street Stocks surged Wednesday after Nike and FedEx reported better-than-expected earnings, tamping down concerns of a recession. Shares of Nike jumped 12.17%, or $12.56 a share, to close at $115.77 after reporting quarterly income of $1.33 billion. FedEx stock also rose after it reported earnings that beat expectations. Porsche begins producing eFuel from water, wind and CO2 Porsche is creating an alternative fuel source at its new plant in Chile that relies on renewable energy sources. Using wind, water and carbon dioxide, eFuel can serve as a complementary energy source for electric vehicles and for internal combustion engines to run in a "nearly CO2-neutral" manner. NASA officially retires Mars InSight lander
NASA has formally retired its Mars InSight lander, the first robotic probe specially designed to study the deep interior of a distant world, four years after it arrived on the red planet's surface. Mission controllers at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory determined the mission was over when two attempts to re-establish radio contact with the lander failed, a sign that InSight's solar-powered batteries had finally run out of energy.
