Biden's approval ratings get midterm bump

President Joe Biden faced poor job approval ratings entering the 2022 midterm election season, prompting predictions that Democrats would face heavy losses. But Biden's numbers began to tick up leading up to Election Day, according to a new poll. Biden had a 44% approval rating and a 53% disapproval rating days before the election -- a slight bump. He timed it right for the midterms, when the GOP lost key gubernatorial races, failed to take the Senate,  and narrowly took back the House.

Walmart shooting latest in violence spree

A manager at Walmart shot and killed six people at a store bustling with holiday shoppers before turning the pistol on himself. Four remained hospitalized following the Tuesday night rampage in Chesapeake, Va. The shooting falls on the heels of a weekend gun attack at an LGBTQ club in Colorado that killed five people. It was also the second mass shooting in Virginia this month after three students at the University of Virginia who played on its football team were killed by a classmate.

German museum heist nets millions in coins

German officials suspect organized criminal groups were likely behind a museum heist that stole millions in ancient Celtic gold coins. The Celtic and Roman Museum's security systems, along with the town's entire telephone network, were disabled during the heist. Other items stolen dated back to around 100 B.C. Officials estimate the value of the coins, which weighed a total of about 8.8 pounds, at millions of dollars.
