Trump reinstated to Twitter after Musk poll

Former President Donald Trump's account on Twitter was reinstated over the weekend, nearly two years after it was suspended. Twitter banned Trump following the Capitol riot on Jan. 6, 2021, citing "the risk of further incitement of violence." However, new Twitter CEO Elon Musk lifted the ban after holding a poll Friday that asked Twitter users to click "yes" or "no" on whether Trump's account should be reinstated. Of the 15 million users who participated in the poll, 51.8% voted "yes."

Mass shooting at Colorado LGBTQ nightclub

At least five people were killed and 18 were wounded in a mass shooting at an LGBTQ nightclub late Saturday in Colorado Springs. Patrons who were marking the Transgender Day of Remembrance subdued the gunman, and police have a suspect in custody. The shooting is the latest in a string of attacks on LGBTQ venues in the U.S. Police are crediting a heroic effort by patrons to stop the suspect.
