NASA mission successfully deflects asteroid

The spacecraft that NASA deliberately crashed into an asteroid last month succeeded in nudging the rocky moonlet out of its natural orbit -- the first time humanity has altered the motion of a celestial body. The $330 million DART mission, which was seven years in development, also marked the world's first step toward a planetary defense system designed to prevent a doomsday meteorite collision with Earth.

'GM Energy' paves way for masses to plug in

General Motors announced on Tuesday that it will produce chargers for electric vehicles and other sustainable energy options for homes and businesses. The new GM Energy division will offer products for "bi-directional charging, vehicle-to-home and vehicle-to-grid applications, to stationary storage, solar products, software applications, ... hydrogen fuel cells and more." GM plans to be completely electric by 2035.

Meta Platforms unveiled its Quest Pro virtual and mixed reality headset on Tuesday, marking a milestone for CEO Mark Zuckerberg's break into the higher-end market for extended reality computing devices. The new headset, which is scheduled to hit shelves on Oct 25 at a price of $1,500, will offer consumers a way to interact with virtual creations overlaid onto a full-color view of the physical world around them.
