Americans' view of SCOTUS falls after ruling

A majority of Americans hold a negative opinion of the U.S. Supreme Court following its decision last week to overturn the Roe v. Wade ruling that recognized a right to abortion, says a Reuters/Ipsos survey released Tuesday. The poll said 57% of Americans had an unfavorable view of the court, while 43% viewed it favorably. That puts approval of the court, which is meant to be a nonpartisan entity, on a par with Americans' views of Congress, which has long been viewed negatively.

Airbnb pulls the plug on house party rentals

Airbnb has made permanent its pandemic-era prohibition of parties at the properties rented out globally through its app, saying Tuesday the rules have been effective against problematic events. Airbnb has gradually tightened its policies on parties after complaints and then provisionally barred events in 2020 as a means of fighting the spread of Covid, but it turned out to be effective against disruptive gatherings.

Howard Stern says he may run for president

Radio and television personality Howard Stern said Monday that he may run for president due to abortion rights. Stern, 68, told listeners on his Sirius XM program, "The Howard Stern Show," that he was upset with the Supreme Court’s decision and that “I’m actually going to probably have to run for president now.” In 1994, the shock jock ran for governor of New York that many considered to bid a publicity stunt.
