Zelensky visits front lines as Russia attacks

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky made his first trip Sunday to the war-torn east since Moscow's invasion started, as Russian forces tightened their grip around key cities in the Donbas region. After visiting Kharkiv, Zelensky announced that he had fired the northeastern city's security chief in a rare public rebuke "for not working to defend the city from the first days of the full-scale war, but thinking only of himself."

Biden's approval ratings aren't rebounding

Democrats hoping for President Joe Biden to see an improvement in his job approval ratings continue to hold their breath. Biden has yet to see a rebound from weak numbers that began to decline in October 2021. The latest poll showed Biden with a 38% job approval rating, while 52% disapprove of his job performance. Those numbers are down from April, when the poll showed his approval rating at 42%.

'Top Gun: Maverick' blasts off at box office

Four decades later, "Top Gun" still has plenty of fuel left in the tank. "Top Gun: Maverick" pulled in blockbuster ticket sales in its opening weekend, collecting $134 million from a record 4,732 North American cinemas. Paramount and Skydance's all-American action adventure is expected to collect $151 million through Monday, defying expectations while also setting a new record for Memorial Day opening weekends.
