Guns surpass cars as leading killer of kids

In the wake of the tragic school shooting in Uvalde, Texas, gun control and safety are hot topics for debate, especially on the heels of a new CDC report showing more American children dying from gun violence than ever before. The study found that firearms were the leading cause of death for children in 2020, accounting for 5.3 deaths per 100,000 children in 2020, or 4,368 children up to the age of 19. In fact, for the first time in decades, more children died from guns than car crashes.

Twitter shareholder files suit against Musk

Elon Musk faces a lawsuit accusing him of pushing down Twitter's stock price in order to either give himself an escape hatch from his $44 billion buyout bid, or room to negotiate a discount. The suit alleges the billionaire Tesla boss tweeted and made statements intended to create doubt about the deal, which has roiled the social media platform for weeks. Musk's claims that Twitter's use of software "bots" instead of real people.is one of Musk's many hangups about finalizing the deal.

Zuckerberg: Metaverse launch will be costly

Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg told Meta shareholders on Wednesday that his metaverse project will lose money over the short term. His comments came in response to a question from a shareholder about return on investment. Zuckerburg made investors aware that the losses would be "significant" for the next three to five years, but the initial costs will be worth the price over the long haul.
