End of Trump-era immigration policy puts onus on Biden
The US government is prepared to handle a potential gush of migrants from next month when Covid-19 rules will no longer be used to push nearly all undocumented border-crossers back into Mexico, officials said Tuesday. While the Supreme Court considers Title 42, the public health order used to bar immigrants during the pandemic, the Biden administration will implement a "comprehensive strategy" to deal with a surge in asylum seekers and refugees entering the country after the May 23 expiration.

Home sales drop dramatically, but when will prices follow?
Sales of new homes fell in the U.S. in March, government data showed Tuesday, as high prices continued to crimp demand. Sales dropped to an annualized rate of 763,000, seasonally adjusted, less than analysts anticipated and 8.6% below the rate in February, Still, prices continued to climb, with the median sales price reaching $436,700, not seasonally adjusted, though as sales slowed supply increased to 5.7 months at the current pace.

Top U.S. House Republican Kevin McCarthy told colleagues he feared members of his party, including Reps. Matt Gaetz and Mo Brooks, would put other lawmakers at risk with their comments following the assault on the U.S. Capitol. On a call with other GOP leaders days after the Jan. 6, 2021, McCarthy expressed concerns about comments made by members closely aligned with Donald Trump after the riot.

United Airlines launches historic expansion

United Airlines is working to get ahead of what it expects to be a strong demand for transatlantic flights to Europe this summer. In preparation, United is adding 30 new and renewed flights to overseas cities as part of its largest expansion in decades. United announced Tuesday that it would be increasing its flights from cities like New York, Washington, Chicago, and Boston to European and Middle Eastern destinations.
