Judge rules against public transit mask mandate extension
A federal judge struck down President Joe Bidenâ€™s extension of the mask mandate on interstate public transportation on Monday after it had been extended to May 3. Judge Kathryn Kimball ruled that the Biden administration and the CDC overstepped their authority by extending the mask mandate. The mask mandate for public transit has been a source of consternation for Republican Party politicians and members of travel industry. There was no immediate word from the White House about a possible appeal.

Ukraine: Russia launches eastern assault

Ukraine said Russia had started an anticipated new offensive in the east of the country, with explosions reported all along the front lines as well as attacks in other regions. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said Russia had begun the "Battle of Donbas" in the east on Monday and a "very large part of the entire Russian army is now focused on this offensive." Meanwhile, the U.S. will hold a conference with allies to discuss the crisis and Russia's growing aggression.

Dorsey targets Twitter board over Musk bid

Twitter founder and former CEO Jack Dorsey took to the platform to criticize the social media company's board with a series of tweets over Tesla CEO and SpaceX founder Elon Musk's purchase offer. Dorsey, who is expected to leave Twitter's board this year, owns a little over 2% of the company he founded with a net worth of $7.3 billion. Musk purchased 9.2% of Twitter's stock and is attempting a hostile takeover.
