President Joe Biden is seeking to reinforce Western unity at a series of summits in Europe this week where new sanctions will be announced against Russia over its war in Ukraine, a top US official said Tuesday. Biden leaves today for Brussels a day ahead of summits with NATO and the European Council, then a trip to Poland the following day. The intense diplomacy marks a crucial moment in the dangerous standoff between a newly reinvigorated transatlantic alliance and President Vladimir Putin, who a month ago sent the Russian army pouring into pro-Western Ukraine.

Fed officials caution against effects of 'too-high' inflation
San Francisco Federal Reserve Bank President Mary Daly said Tuesday she believes the "main risk" to the economy is from too-high inflation that could get worse as Russia's invasion of Ukraine boosts oil prices and China's crackdown on COVID-19 further disrupts supply chains. The Fed raised rates last week for the first time in three years, and signaled ongoing rate hikes ahead. Another Fed official called for a 2.5% rate hike by year's end.

Russia-Ukrainian war death toll mounting

Statistics released in recent days have provided a better understanding of the human suffering in the Russia-Ukraine war. In addition to its own military and civilian casualties, Ukrainian officials reported Tuesday that about 15,000 Russian troops have been killed since the war began one month ago. Arby's, rapper throw shade at McDonald's

The fast-food wars have morphed into a rap battle. Arby's has teamed up with rapper Pusha T (co-author of McDonald's "I'm Lovin' It" jingle) to drop a diss track aimed at Mickey D's Filet-O-Fish sandwich.
