Russia-Ukraine war grinding to a stalemate

The Russian invasion into Ukraine could reach a stalemate, according to a senior NATO intelligence official who suggested neither side would back down from the fight. The official said Russian President Vladimir Putin’s determination to seize territories combined with Ukraine’s ability to hold off Russian troops could result in an impossible battle. “If we’re not in a stalemate, we are rapidly approaching one,” the official said. “The problem with a stalemate is that it’s a long, drawn-out fight."

Jackson scrutinized at confirmation hearing

Ketanji Brown Jackson, President Joe Biden's nominee to become the first Black woman on the Supreme Court, stressed her patriotism and Christian faith on Monday while Republicans asked whether she has a hidden agenda that favors criminals. As the hearing unfolded, Biden touted Jackson on Twitter as "a brilliant legal mind." However, she faced harsh attacks from Sens. Josh Hawley and Marsha Blackburn.

SpaceX orbital flight set to launch in May

CEO Elon Musk said Monday that he expects SpaceX's Starship to take its first orbital flight in May. Starship is meant to be a fully reusable spacecraft that can carry both crew and cargo to Earth, the Moon, Mars and more at a low operating cost.
