Russian missile hits close to NATO border

A Russian missile attack on a large Ukrainian military facility near the border with NATO member Poland killed 35 people, wounded 134, and marked a "significant escalation" of the conflict. President Joe Biden has said NATO will defend every inch of its territory if Russia's invasion spills over into member states, and Sunday's strike came within 12 miles of doing so. The attack was likely a message from Russia to NATO nations using the base to train and supply Ukrainian soldiers.

China sees worst Covid outbreak in 2 years

China placed all 17 million residents in one of its biggest cities under lockdown Sunday as virus cases doubled nationwide to nearly 3,400 and anxiety mounted over the resilience of its 'zero-Covid' approach in the face of the worst outbreak in two years. The city of Shenzhen told all residents to stay at home, suspended public transportation until March 20, and launched three rounds of mass testing to fight the virus.

Obama 'fine' after testing positive for Covid

Former President Barack Obama announced that he tested positive for COVID-19. Obama posted on Twitter that he had "a scratchy throat for a couple days but am feeling fine otherwise” after spending time in Hawaii. He said wife, former first lady Michelle Obama, tested negative.
